A walk around KS2

Lots of displays linked to the children's learning and their response to this can be seen on a walk around KS2.

Taking their own safety seriously

The children have been reflecting on the importance of Internet safety and other areas of personal safety before half term, their posters seek to encourage everyone to think.

A busy day in foundation stage

Lots of creativity in Foundation Stage today as they explore the story of  Jack and the Beanstalk as well as other themes. Over Easter their challenge was to design and build a home for an Easter chick - lots of wonderful ideas and great places to live!

An time to choose

As the clock ticks away on this final day of the spring term we complete our Easter journey together.

We have considered so many different things over the past few weeks as we have looked at specific aspects of the Easter story.

Yesterday we thought about the choices that Jesus made and how in the same way we all make choices everyday. Choices are not sometimes easy and sometimes we make the wrong ones. But the amazing thing is that our positive choices can make a real difference to the people around us.

So I set the whole school an Easter challenge yesterday.

Over the Easter period I asked them to consider what choices they could make that would make a difference to someone. Was this just choosing to say thank you, or to offer to help? Or was it a decison to make sure keep our room tidy ( a very real challenge for some of us!) over the Easter holidays, or to rememer to think before we respond to something that might annoy us? There are so many choices that we make each day and each of those can make a difference.

So that's our challenge this Easter.

Jesus chose to ride into Jerusalem to make a difference for all of us. As a school community, what difference can we make this holiday?

LOROS and the London marathon

There has been a real sense of excitement building over the past few weeks as one of our support staff Mrs B prepares to undertake the challenge of the London marathon over the Easter holiday. She has been in training for weeks and has organised a number of fund raising activities linked to her support for LOROS

One of these was the opportunity for children to design a T Shirt for her to complete the run in. The response was amazing with even two children actually producing 'bear' size replicas. The chosen winners had their design turned into a real T Shirt. Something Mrs B will wear with pride every step of the way.

So we will be seeking to catch a glimpse of Mrs B on the TV and be thinking of her as she undertakes the challenge to complete every single mile.

An amazing response to support the work of LOROS - well done Mrs B!

Year 6 egg competition

As ever the creativity of year 6 has been once again evidenced in their annual egg competition. The breadth of ideas and attention to detail is wonderful - its going to be very hard for anyone to pick the winner!

PTFA Easter egg hunt

Great fun today for all year groups as they took part in the Easter egg hunt organised by the PTFA.

Many thanks to them for all the work they have done again this term to contribute to the life of the school - they make a real difference.
